This vertical grouping is a strength of the Academy and the Houses provide continuity throughout a student’s school life as well as the opportunity to get to know and to identify with students of all age groups. In particular it gives older students the chance to relate to younger students and to learn skills of leadership.
The House system encourages participation in a varied programme of activities and fosters healthy competition.
The House System aims to:
- build teams;
- develop individual skills;
- support charitable work;
- develop a sense of community;
- encourage healthy competition;
- promote a positive contribution; and
- develop leadership

It is hoped that all students will derive immense benefit from active involvement in the organisation of, and participation in, House events.
Colours match those of the Houses at Hatcham College and Crayford Academy to enable inter-Trust events to take place.
