The death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
This is a time we will remember and regardless of one’s views on the Royal Family, it is one of historic importance not only for the UK, but also for the world.
My message is brief, simply to acknowledge this moment as a Trust. As we enter a period of national mourning, there are expectations on schools to follow specific guidance and protocol. The detail of this is yet to be released but your child’s Principal will write to you with further information.
All of our schools will remain open - unless directed otherwise. Pupils are expected to attend as normal. We will support each other through what may be a challenging time and will take time in assemblies and lessons to work with our children and young people to help them understand the historic moment as it unfolds in the coming days.
You will see reduced activity on our social media accounts - this is an expectation from the Cabinet Office - but we will operate normally in all other ways. Communication channels are open.
Thank you for your support through what is likely to be an unsettling time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school as normal.
Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, and the Queen’s youngest son, is a Patron of the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers and has officially opened several of our schools over the years. Our thoughts are with him and with all the members of the Royal family.
With my very best wishes.
