Sixth Form Dress Code
Consistency (‘uniformity’) within the expectations of student attire can provide a haven from pressures and expectations on teenagers to wear the ‘right’ thing, the ‘right’ way, or to be adapting constantly to changing styles and trends. The rules below will be enforced by staff for these reasons.
Sixth form students should dress for school as though attending an interview.
Male attire
- Plain business shirt with collar
- Tie
- Plain dark business suit
Female attire
- Plain sleeved shirts and tops
- Plain dark business suit - full length trousers or knee length skirt with matching jackets
- Plain, dark or neutral tights (in keeping with outfit).
Footwear/ Jewellery/ Jumpers
- Smart shoes - heels should be no more than two inches high; no stilettos, boots, no leather trainers or shoes with coloured laces/ stitching.
- Jewellery - piercings are only permitted to the ears, with up to two earrings permitted per ear. These should be studs or earrings with a drop of not more than 1 cm from the earlobe; a single, discreet necklace and bracelet may be worn; a single ring may be worn; no ankle bracelets or other jewellery is permitted.
- Jumpers - should be plain coloured, V-neck and smart in design. These should not be chunky, patterned, made of fleece material, or have a zip-up neck. The blouse collar and top button must be visible.
