The Gatsby Benchmarks
What are the Gatsby Benchmarks
The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of eight guidelines that define what high-quality careers education looks like in schools and colleges. They are used to ensure that students receive meaningful, well-rounded support to help them make informed choices about their future.
The 8 Gatsby benchmarks:
- A stable careers programme
- Learning from career and labour market information
- Addressing the needs of each pupil
- Linking curriculum learning to careers
- Encounters with employers and employees
- Experiences of workplaces
- Encounters with further and higher education
- Personal guidance
How we meet the Gatsby Benchmarks
We use the Compass+ Evaluation tool to review our careers provision and ensure it meets the expectation of the Gatsby Benchmarks. We also analyse our destination data, career surveys, Unifrog usage and gain feedback on events and career interventions.
